Registration Category PONY & P.O.A. IPSHR strongly recommends that solid horses be bred to LP/Patn colored horses. |

A PONY shall be defined as any equine that is between 46" and 58" inclusive, falling between 11.2 and 14.2 hands at mature height. A pony may be accepted with one or both parents of LP/Patn breeding or registered with the Ponies of the Americas Club. In addition, any pony that displays a documented "appaloosa" coat pattern shall be eligible for registration in the PONY category of IPSHR. Any pony that demonstrates the acceptable characteristics of mottled skin, striped hooves, and white sclera shall be eligible for registration in the PONY category of IPSHR. Mottled skin shall be that which is defined by the appaloosa registries of the United States and Canada.
